A great loss to all of us.
May he rest in peace.

We mourn the human. The thinker had lost contact with reality by working for Al Akhbar. This guy was working for a Hizballah mouthpiece for God's sake! Let's remember the human first and his best work next. For a clue on his legacy, look at the 20th century's greatest thinkers (e.g. Sartre) who happened to be also Soviet propagandists. Posterity is harsh on fundamental misjudgment which borders on the unethical. That's the bad thing about sudden death. You aren't even given the opportunity to explain your choices.

anon- he didn't work for Al Akhbar, he created Al Akhbar. You might no like his views, which is fine a lot of people did not. But those were HIS views, and he was not a mouthpiece for anyone.

So I mourn the thinker for I did not know the human, and I doubt you were familiar with either.
