Angry Olmert Day 21

750 civilian deaths and counting in Olmert's raging war against women and children, or as he prefers to call them: terrorist farms because there are no innocent civilians. Lebanese children don't hug teddy bears when they sleep, they sleep with katyushas in their beds in case you didn't know.

Israeli military incompetence has exceeded all expectations, that was a bit surprising. Surely though their random killing and destruction credentials are untouched.

More surprising, however, is their war propaganda which has shown complete creative bankruptcy. For example , the number of Hezbollah fighters the IDF have claimed to kill is always a round number. I would recommend they use odd numbers more often, 43-31-17 -93 makes it sound more credible than 200-20-40-50.

May I also recommend a computer program called Adobe Photoshop. You can very easily place a chubby black turbanned dude running into any of the civilian shelters you plan on bringing down on top of 42 kids under the age of 13.

As for the cartoons, fliers, and radio interference; that was so amateurish that it's not even worth discussing.

My favorite war propaganda item though is the "strategic redeployment". If you are planning to "strategically redeploy" your ass out of a village, DO NOT spend a week hyping it up as the Capital of Hezbollah.

I can provide you with plenty more tricks if you want. Just tell Halutz, Peretz, or Olmertz to contact me. I'm sure they have no problem reaching me, I'm a civilian after all.

you still dont answer the question..

do you believe israel has a right to be...

do you believe it ok for hezbollah to shoot 150 rockets a day on civilian targets in israel?

Well I'm gonna answer your question:
Israel hasn't even got the right to exist therefore it has no further rights, and it's obviously OK for hezbollah tobombard you since they've agressed no one, they've just riposted to your agression.
Incompatible graft will fall the sooner or later, rejected by Nature itself, not arabs.

btw, as for nature, the arab world encourages it's kids to die for the cause, might i suggest you study darwin?

Everything so coordinated written by a person in a situation like the one in Lebanon right now should be respected, no matter if one thinks it is the truth or not.

High Moral standards should suggest argueing about the objective truth and the other sides viewpoint in another, more suited forum.

At least that's what I think. So never you mind.

dear "occupation" you should maybe not believe the hype of your information provider, they're perhaps trying to blind your judgement using weak excuses, excuses like going off to war for the kidnapping of 2 poor soldiers :)
As for me, I don't need to explain my point further cuz it's obvious by your answer that deep inside yourself you also know that Israel's state is bound to vanish; unless you kill all the arabs and muslims surrounding you...we're still waiting; but considering the concerns you have with a small shiite army, it's gonna be a hard job for you despite your high-extermination-technology.
Peace.

dear incompatible:

you say: excuses like going off to war for the kidnapping of 2 poor soldiers :)

but the truth? this is the islamic worlds LAST stand. All others (egypt, jordan, iraq, saudia arabia, etc) have failed thru war, all that is left is the crazy iranians and the shia. as for the "going off to war" for 2 soldiers, it is not just that and you well know it.

the arab world is impodent, it does not create anything except destruction, nasser, arafat, and now the head of hezbollah, you should be proud....

you state: Israel's state is bound to vanish; unless you kill all the arabs and muslims surrounding you...

no, israel is not you, israel doesnt want to murder everyone, and we have heard it all before, the arabs are coming, they out number you.. yeah it will be interesting when you dont have oil...

how will the arab world feed it'sself when no oil is there?

how will you build when you have no oil money to pay the way?

how will you thrive with iranian & syrian masters pulling your strings?

you stated: we're still waiting; but considering the concerns you have with a small shiite army, it's gonna be a hard job for you despite your high-extermination-technology.

see this is the stupidity that amazes me, if Israel WANTED to kill 10,000 of thousands and be arab-like they could, the accidental killings of civilians is because your BRAVE WARRIORS, the SHia, HIDE behind women, old men and babies, must make Mohammed Proud!!!! Such honor! Your example of a small shiite army is pathetic, yes they can fight, but personally i'd just napalm them and cluster bomb them in their positions, yes that could destroy them, but do the israelis do that? no! do you really think israel would waste million dollar weapons on civilians when you could simply bomb them with crude 2000 pound bunker busters?

your thoughts that israel is going to go away is the dream.. It is not. it sucks that 6 million jews could the kick the crap out mightly arab warriors, aint it hard to wrap your mind around the fact that israel, that tiny small sliver of less than 1% of the arab world out produces the entire region?

amazing, i guess you dont read your koran, torah, bible, it's jews you are dealing with, the know you. the arabs are the bastard child of abraham & hagar, all the world KNOWS this and remembers what a jackass you are. too bad, you could have peace if not for your impodent blood lust.

Here is a deal for you, give the fake people palestine most of the west bank and gaza, lebanon to the sunni & christian arabs, jordan to the so-called palestinians, the modern day arab occupiers of egypt can stay (too bad original coptics), and live and let live..

but why do i think you are committed to the destruction of the state of israel. and if you are, dont be suprised that you loose your own country instead.

Now, they want us to accept Chuck Hagel as reasonable. No! The left wing politicians better come out of their holes and start demanding to be heard on the corporate press. I mean, the elite is now against the war anyway, they just want to save face.

Everyone in the States, write or call Congressman Kucinich and demand he be more vocal.

I'm glad to see Jamal is still there.

Also, how is the death toll only 700? I saw whole blocks destroyed. In the south, large sections of villages were destroyed. Jamal, are they underestimating the deaht count so they can shock the world out of its stupor later on?

828 is latest official number of deaths. Plenty of bodies remain under the rubble in various towns.

From the images in the news 2000+ would seem very low. As long as Israel is taunted with the notion that anything less than the erasure of all life in S. Lebanon it is sure to grow greatly.

Do you believe Jamal? Do you believe in the power of prayer to influence events? If you do then, arguably, there are no innocent civilians in in S. Lebanon where most have prayed for the violent end of Israel and the jewish people daily since they were children. If you believe you must then accept the concept of the wrath of God.

Kodder said...

They keep insisting that a small part of beirut is being hit... 200 buildings isnt tiny...
anyway..you forgot tyr(which more or less destroyed) and endless number of villages.
that and what jamal said, the official number is bound to get much bigger when the officials can actually reach some villages to count the bodies under the destroyed buildings.
those numbers are mainly of what the officials know about.

The idea behind the comments section is to have constructive debates on what I write. Repeating the same tired rhetorical comments over and over every day isn't really my idea of positive interaction.

For the reading comprehension challenged readers, today's topic was Israeli War Propaganda. You can agree or disagree with me , fine. You can discuss Lebanese or Hezbollah Propaganda; Anything related to this topic. But if this is gonna be just an arena for blind-deaf cock fights with no one actually bothering to read my posts, I will start moderating comments.

just a little deju vue...

jamal stated 20 days ago: We're All Hezbollah Whether we like it or not.

Hezbollah did something this morning they've been promising to do for years, yet it caught millions of people by surprise.

Israel, expectedly after a huge military and moral blow, retaliated strongly by air and by sea.

Olmert is promising more hell, but I think it's just hot air.

Hezbollah did their thing in the morning and and then sat back and watched . Israel hit roads and nothing else.

Why? Because any further escalation would give Hezbollah the right (per the April 1996 Agreement) to hit back. Power station for power station. Tourist season for Tourist Season.

Israel knows Hezbollah rockets are in place, ready, aimed and can reach deep into Israel. 15,000 of them. And that's even before the "surprise".

Israel had to retaliate. No way they could let an act of aggression by Hezbollah go "unpunished." So they barked, hit roads, and killed civilians. In the end they will sit down and negotiate.

Hezbollah acted unilaterally and they will get some criticism for it in Lebanon, especially for endangering the precious tourist season. However, regionally they got millions of admirers for being the only group in the world to do something about the rape of Gaza. Sure, Nasrallah insists today was all about Lebanon and Lebanese POWs, but who is he kidding.
It wasn't and there is no shame in that.

At the end of the day Hezbollah proves they are strong, very strong actually, and Israel is not used to dealing with a strong foe.

Reel in the F-16s and start the negotiations, there just is no other option.

Just thought that was interesting,.....

online journal, july 26: The original story, as most media tell it, goes something like this: Hezbollah attacked an Israeli border patrol station (on July 12), killing six and taking two soldiers hostage. The incident happened on the Lebanese/Israel border in Israeli territory. The alternate version, as explained by several news outlets, tells a bit of a different tale: These sources contend that Israel sent a commando force into southern Lebanon and was subsequently attacked by Hezbollah near the village of Aitaa al-Chaab, well inside Lebanon's southern territory. It was at this point that an Israeli tank was struck by Hezbollah fighters, which resulted in the capture of two Israeli soldiers and the death of six. As the AFP reported, "According to the Lebanese police force, the two Israeli soldiers were captured in Lebanese territory, in the area of Aitaa al-Chaab, near to the border with Israel, where an Israeli unit had penetrated in middle of morning." And the French news site www.VoltaireNet.org reiterated the same account on July 18, "In a deliberated way, [Israel] sent a commando in the Lebanese back-country to Aitaa al-Chaab. It was attacked by Hezbollah, taking two prisoners" The Associated Press departed from the official version as well. "The militant group Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers during clashes Wednesday across the border in southern Lebanon, prompting a swift reaction from Israel, which sent ground forces into its neighbor to look for them," reported Joseph Panossian for AP on July 12. "The forces were trying to keep the soldiers' captors from moving them deeper into Lebanon, Israeli government officials said on condition of anonymity."

agence france presse, july 12: Israel troops enter Lebanon as Hezbollah boasts soldiers capture by Jihad Siqlawi; Wed Jul 12, 7:01 AM ET. AITA SHAAB, Lebanon (AFP) - Lebanon's Hezbollah militia has captured two Israeli soldiers prompting the first Israeli ground operation into Lebanon since its 2000 pullout. The seizure of the two soldiers, which Israel described as a "strong possibility" threatened to open up a new front in the troubled region after the capture of another Israeli soldier in Gaza two weeks ago plunged the region into chaos. "In order to fulfil a promise to free the prisoners and detainees, the Islamic Resistance captured at 9:05 am (0605 GMT) two Israeli soldiers at the borders with occupied Palestine," a Hezbollah statement said Wednesday, referring to its military wing. Israel promptly launched a ground and air assault on Lebanon, a military spokesman said. It was the first ground operation since Israeli troops withdrew from southern Lebanon in May 2000. The shelling, accompanied by automatic gunfire, began at 9:00 am (0600 GMT), Israeli military sources said. "Our planes, tanks and artillery are operating inside Lebanese territory," the spokesman said.

The forces were trying to keep the soldiers' captors from moving them deeper into Lebanon, Israeli government officials said on condition of anonymity. arutz sheva, july 20: Terrorist Bunker Hit by IAF, Hizbullah Denies Leadership Deaths
10:45 Jul 20, '06 / 24 Tammuz 5766. Air Force jets demolished a Hizbullah bunker southeast of Beirut late Wednesday night, and intelligence information indicated that the group’s chief terrorist, Hassan Nasrallah, may have been there during the strike. Some 23 tons of explosives were dropped on the bunker as soon as IDF intelligence sources warned army officials that Hizbullah leaders, including Nasrallah, had entered the bunker. Despite claims by the terror organization that fighter pilots attacked an empty mosque under construction, IDF sources were clear that the mission had been successful. “We know exactly what we hit,” Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Dan Gillerman told a CNN reporter. “This was no religious site. It was indeed the headquarters of the Hizbullah leadership.”

al-jazeera, july 21: Israeli aircraft had dropped 23 tonnes of explosives on a site in southern Beirut on Wednesday night, claiming that it was an underground bunker where Hezbollah leaders, possibly including Nasrallah, were meeting. Hezbollah immediately denied that the building was a bunker and said that none of its members was hurt. It said the site was a mosque that was under construction. Nasrallah said: "I can confirm without exaggerating or using psychological warfare that we have not been harmed." Aljazeera, which aired only excerpts of the interview, said it was taped earlier on Thursday. The interviewer said the meeting took place amid tight security precautions but did not say where. Nasrallah also denied claims by Israel to have destroyed half of Hezbollah's rocket arsenal, calling the claims "baseless".

jerusalem post, july 15: About 25 percent of Hizbullah's capabilities have been hit, a high-ranking IDF officer estimated on Sunday night at the end of the fifth day of Operation Just Reward. The officer predicted that the operation would end in the middle of next week.

washington times, july 22: U.S. doubts Israeli figures about damage of air war; By Rowan Scarborough. Israel is overstating the damage its air war has inflicted on the Hezbollah militia, which hides its weapons in tunnels and civilian neighborhoods throughout Lebanon, Bush administration and intelligence officials said yesterday. Israeli assessments are "too large," said one U.S. official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. But he added, "We are not getting into numbers." Jerusalem military leaders have put out numbers such as "50 percent" and "one-third" to assess the damage its combat jets have done to Hezbollah's arsenal of 13,000 rockets, and its mortars, launchers, vehicles and other military equipment. Israel's ambassador to the U.S., Daniel Ayalon, told the Associated Press yesterday that bombing has destroyed more than 40 percent of Hezbollah's arms. A second government source said the amount destroyed is less than one-third. Officials also said an air attack on Hezbollah's headquarters bunker in south Beirut failed to kill any senior militia members, including leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah. The assumption is that no senior Hezbollah members were home when Israeli planes dropped 23 tons of munitions, including concrete-penetrating "bunker buster" bombs. "We are unaware of any senior leadership being killed," the official said.

the pathetic reality of zionist wishful thinking: a) idf estimates are worthless lies concocted for the sole purpose of deceiving zionist masses; b) idf estimates of hizbullah "depeletion" apparently include innocent civilians and baby carriages (rocket launchers) destroyed; c) the idf of 2006 is even more incompetent, overrated, weak & beatable than the idf of 1982.

WHILE Israel fights Hezbollah with tanks and aircraft, its supporters are campaigning on the internet.

Israel’s Government has thrown its weight behind efforts by supporters to counter what it believes to be negative bias and a tide of pro-Arab propaganda. The Foreign Ministry has ordered trainee diplomats to track websites and chatrooms so that networks of US and European groups with hundreds of thousands of Jewish activists can place supportive messages.

In the past week nearly 5,000 members of the World Union of Jewish Students (WUJS) have downloaded special “megaphone” software that alerts them to anti-Israeli chatrooms or internet polls to enable them to post contrary viewpoints. i think the reason why you are constantly repeating yourself with irrelevant comments is that you refuse to put things into their historical perspective.

what answer are you looking for when you keep mentioning suicide bombers? are they not a result of israeli agression against palestinian civilians? and to keep things relevant to this blog, when was the last time Hizballah used suicide bombers in a pizza parlor inside israel? it is an organization fighting an occupying army.
before you reply that they send missiles into northern israel, please remember that israeli jets have killed and maimed many Lebanese civilians even before hezbollah was formed.

"occupation" i think the reason why you are constantly repeating yourself with irrelevant comments is that you refuse to put things into their historical perspective.

Historic Perspective? The jewish People had a Kingdom for 2000 yrs in the area we speak of...

If your arguement is history, well then there is no palestinian people ever mentioned in the torah, bible or koran. But the Kingdom of Israel is. also when Islam invaded in 690, they stole israelite lands.

But if you want to talk of MODERN history, ok,

randah: what answer are you looking for when you keep mentioning suicide bombers? are they not a result of israeli agression against palestinian civilians?

If the Arab world IN MODERN history had accepted the UN in 1948 (forget the 1918 LEGAL decision of the league of Nations that was pushed to the trash beacause the arab world rejected it) there would be no reason for ISraeli self defense.

IN 1966, the arabs were attacking Israel from the west bank and gaza, WHY NO STATE?

randah:and to keep things relevant to this blog, when was the last time Hizballah used suicide bombers in a pizza parlor inside israel? it is an organization fighting an occupying army.

Personally, i do not seperate all the hundreds of "arab" resistance groups, they are all cut from the same cloth. but your point is that somehow Hezbollah aint the palestinians, ok, you say they are an organization fighting an occupying army, NOT ACCORDING TO THE UN, SHEBA FARMS AINT LEBANESE, its syrian, and the syrians WONT SIGN IT OVER to lebanon, according to international laws. So as far as the UN and the world is concerned, hezbollah is NOT an organization fighting an occupying army, but rather a private army funded and supplied by iran

randah: before you reply that they send missiles into northern israel, please remember that israeli jets have killed and maimed many Lebanese civilians even before hezbollah was formed.

absolutely correct, but where do you want to start the dialouge? 1865? 1492? 1918? 1966? wars have been fought, won and lost, israel withdrew from all Lebanese lands (according to the UN). do you really want to rehash every battle since saladin (the KURD) stole jerusalem from the christian occupiers?

here is a small point. Hebron, Jerusalem, Galilee, Bethlehem and many more were jewish/israelite towns for 1000 years BEFORE islam every was. does this mean the arab world should return all it's stolen lands starting from medina? NO. but it does mean that Israel has a right to exist, and if you read hamas & hezbollah's charter they say and act that it doesnt.

this will mean war.

sorry

Hezbollah is not about recovering a tiny piece of land called sheba farm or releasing a couple of Lebanese criminals held in Israeli prisons. That’s not why Iran pays hizbakka 40 million dollars a month. Hezbollahs goal is to impose a theocratic fundamentalist regime, first in Lebanon and eventually over the entire Arab world, in order to further the glory of Allah and hasten the arrival of the mahdi (the Muslim messiah).

In the Iranian-Hezbollah utopia 16 year old girls will be hanged for committing "adultery" (like in Iran today), authors will be condemned to death and society will be dragged back to the dark ages (only kind of scientific research allowed will be nuclear weapon development).

That’s why most Arab rĂ©gimes are against iran-hizballah.

Dania said...

i find it very funny to be warned against the coming danger of an Islamist regime which will bring much sufferning to our Arab world...may i remind you what Israel did to the Arab world...only massacring the people, not just 16 year old girls, but children 1 day old. if you do not know, the Israeli soldiers used to stab pregnant women in their stomachs to kill the unborn infants. needless to talk about the occupation and the refugees by the millions. my teacher, a great pianist, she's originally from Palestine, but now a refugee in Lebanon, she still has the keys to her house in Palestine which she and many like her will never see unfortunately.
i guess we should thank God for a zionist state to kill us instead of an Islamic one. i'm relieved!
PS..learn more about Iran...you will be surprised how much more democratic they are than Israel(although besides my point)

Dear dania

Iran's religious aspirations are not beside the point. They are THE point. Hezbollah is a Iranian organization.

I do not understand how you, a woman (I suppose), can call a country run by a bunch of parochial, anti-woman, anti scientific, anti progress ayatollahs, a "democratic" country.

In which other country are woman routinely whipped for wearing "immodest" clothing in street? In which normal country are people obligated by law to believe in a certain creed? In witch normal country is the army run by a group of messianic zealots?

Blaming everything on the "Zionistic state" is childish and pathetic. The Zionist occupation affects at most 10 million Arabs. The theocratic anti human régimes of the Arab world is destroying the future of dozens, and perhaps hundreds, of million people.

i will have to ask you to try really really hard to see me and everyone else here as people just like yourself.

about the historic perspective, you choose to either jump back a thousand years, or jump ahead to the recent events. why do you skip the establishment of the state of isreal and how it came to existence? why do you skip deir yasin? why do you ignore the collective dispossession and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people for the past five decades?

and now you want to belittle what you are doing to the Lebanese. you want to ignore how you are murdering our children in cold blood. after 50 years, you will also say there were no Lebanese when you invaded the south, and then you will say the "arabs" refused to accept israel and did not recognize its right to exist in southern Lebanon. your children would have not been told about the Qana massacres ofcourse, and they will argue that southern Lebanon is part of their "promised land."
